Series: Part 3 of Balin and Hobbits

Summary:

Emmi (That's Miss Emerald Cotman to you, thanks) should have known that she would never be a respectable Hobbit again.
There was no helping it now.
She knew what she had to do.

Post-quest, a Hobbit lady has a question to ask of Balin.
Balin is in Erebor, therefore she will go to Erebor.
Don't get in her way.

part of a series but can stand on it's own.

Trust the tags. When they say things like ‘scientifically formulated to make you feel happy’, and ‘this is probably going to be about 95percent BAMF ladies by volume’, they are absolutely, 120% honest and truthful.

And don’t let the fact that this story is third in a series put you off; it stands very well on its own (although I recommend pt. 4 for a very enjoyable alternate ending), simply through the strength of its OCs (who make up roughly that 95% of the cast, and it’s awesome) and solid good storytelling. It is a tale of a journey that starts for the sake of romantic love, and discovers both friendship and found family on its way to the inevitable happy ending.

In a word, this is a warm and fuzzy feeling with a backbone of iron, and one of my go-to fics for good cheer -- and it would be quite underhanded of me not to spread the happiness around while I can.
