And then some, because Poe’s internal monologue is at turns hilarious and unapologetically romantic, and the back-and-forth between him and Finn is such deliciously easy, light-hearted banter that I can’t help but melt a little utterly.

Not to forget this piece does a wonderful job at reversing the common trope re: who’s experience and who’s not *winkwink*. And I’m ALWAYS and FOREVER a sucker for trope inversions, especially when they result in top-notch lewdness with capital-F Feels.

Which brings me to my final point: although the whole story is only one scene, it’s not self-contained, but anchored in the past and reaching for the future, which adds a lovely layer of depth to it. (Read: I prefer stories that don't happen in a vacuum-floating bubble.)
