One of my very favourite Aglarond pieces: an extraordinarily beautiful vignette, an ode to a boundary-defying friendship and the joy of shared experience - and a story of the all-too-rare species that defies the simplistic labels of romance and platonic love.
The unhurried, contemplative prose breathes easily with exquisite, evocative description, and Gimli's introspective voice is wonderfully true to character (even down to his carefully implied wish for something that might never be). The interaction between him and Legolas shines with the kind of deep warmth that does credit to the original text and cannot help but make the reader smile.
Like too many fics imported from other archives, this is criminally underappreciated, so I would be much obliged if you showed it some love ♥
