This here is a prescription read for feeling down, and not just for the laughs (though those are frequent and significant). Rather, it’s because woven through the increasingly convoluted and ridiculous explanations for embarrassing situations is a not-so-well-hidden plot thread that smells suspiciously like romance.

It’s very young, often quite stupid, and sometimes truly silly, but that only makes it feel genuine and oh-so-sweet. (And incidentally, a very good example of what I call the “dorks in love” trope.)
